Options :

Here, we have to apply the Pythagoras theorem to get the answer. We will take the square of each number i.e. 26 and 16, which are 676 and 256 respectively. Next, we will add them and the result of addition is 932. Finally, we will take the square root of the addition and the result is 30.05 m. So, the minimum distance here is 30 m.

Q 9 - Abhijeet started to move towards the South in an open field and stopped after moving 40 m. Now he turned to his left-hand side and moved 20 m. How much minimum distance he has to cover to reach his starting point?

Options :

Here, we have to apply the Pythagoras theorem to get the answer. We will take the square of each number i.e. 40 and 20, which are 1600 and 400 respectively. Next, we will add them and the result of addition is 2000. Finally, we will take the square root of the addition and the result is 44.72 m. So, the minimum distance here is 45 m.

Q 10 - Sudam started to move in the West direction on a road and stopped after moving 25m. He turned to his right-hand side and moved 15 m. How much minimum distance he has to cover to reach his starting point?

Options :

Here, we have to apply the Pythagoras theorem to get the answer. We will take the square of each number i.e. 25 and 15, which are 625 and 225 respectively. Next, we will add them and the result of addition is 850. Finally, we will take the square root of the addition and the result is 29.15 m. So, the minimum distance here is 29 m.
