Q 8 - Arjun started to move in the West direction in an open field and stopped after moving 69m. Now he turned to his left-hand side and moved 39 m. Now how much minimum distance he has to cover to reach his starting point.

Options :

Here, we have to apply the Pythagoras theorem to get the answer. We will take the square of each number i.e. 69 and 39, which are 4761 and 1521 respectively. Next, we will add them and the result of addition is 6282. Finally, we will take the square root of the addition and the result is 79.25 m. So, the minimum distance here is 79 m.

Q 9 - Baishnav started walking towards North. After walking 300 m, he turned towards left-hand side and walked 400 m. He then turned left-hand side and walked 300 m. he again turned left-hand side and walked 500m. How far is he from his initial position?

Options :

When Baishnav walked 300m North and turned left-hand side and walked 400m and again turned left-hand side and walked 300 m, he is at 400 m to the West of his initial position. Then he turned left-hand side and walked 500 m, so after the final movement, he is 100m to the East of his initial position.

Q 10 - Siddharth started to walk towards the South-East on a road and stopped after moving 26m. Now he turned left-hand side and moved 16 m. How much minimum distance he has to cover to reach his starting point?

Options :

Here, we have to apply the Pythagoras theorem to get the answer. We will take the square of each number i.e. 26 and 16, which are 676 and 256 respectively. Next, we will add them and the result of addition is 932. Finally, we will take the square root of the addition and the result is 30.05 m. So, the minimum distance here is 30 m.
