Q 1 - Find the angle between the hour hand and the minute hand of a clock when the time is 3.25.

Angle traced by the hour hand in 12 hours = 360° Angle traced by it 3 hr 25 minutes i.e 41/12 hrs = 360°/12 * 41/12 = 105°/2 Similarly, angle traced by min hand in 60 mins = 360° Angle traced by it in 25 mins = 3600/60 * 25 = 150° ∴ Angle between hour hand and minute hand = 150° ? 105°/2 = 95°/2

Q 2 - At what time between 4 and 5 o' clock are the hands of a clock 3 minutes apart?

A - 45.09 minutes past 4 o' clock.

B - 35.09 minutes past 4 o' clock.

At 4 o' clock, the minute hand is 20 min spaces behind the hour hand. There are two possible cases for the given scenario. Case I ? Minute hand is 3 min spaces behind the hour hand. In this case the minute hand has to gain (20-3) = 17 minutes. = (60/55) * 17 = (12/11) * 17 = 204/11 ∴ The minute hand will be 3 minute apart at 204/11 min or 18.54 min past 4. Case II ? Minute hand is 3 minutes spaces ahead of the hour hand. In this case the minute hand has to gain (20+3) = 23 minute spaces. = (60/55)*23 = (12/11)*23 = 276/11 = 25.09 minutes ∴ The hands will be 3 minute apart at 25.09 minutes past 4 o' clock.

Q 3 - Find the angle between the two hands of a clock at 15 minutes past 5 o' clock.

At 15 minutes past 5 o' clock, the minute hand is at 3 and hour hand is slightly ahead of 5. In 60 minutes, the hour hand moves ahead by 300 ∴ In 15 minutes, the hour hand moves ahead by = (30/60)*15 = 7.5° Angle between 3 and 5 hour spaces = 60°. ∴ The total angle between the two hands at 15 minutes past 5 o' clock = 60 + 7.5 = 67.5°

Q 4 - A clock is set comfortable Am. The check loses 16 minutes in 24 hours. What will be the genuine time when the clock shows 10 pm on fourth day?

Time from 5am on a day to 10 pm on fourth day= 89 hours Presently 23hrs. 44min. of this clock= 24 hours of right clock. ∴ 356/15 hrs of this clock= (24*15/356*89) hrs. Of right clock. = 90 hrs of right clock. Along these lines, the right time is 11 pm.

Q 5 - At 3.40, the hour hand and the moment hand of a clock from a point of

Angle followed by hour hand in 12 hours= 360° Point followed by hour it in 11/3 hrs. =(360/12*11/3)= 110° Point followed by moment hand in 60 min. =360° Point followed by it in 40 min. =(360/60*40) = 240° ∴ Required Angle = (240-110)= 130°

Q 6 - At what edge the hands of a clock are slanted at 15 min. past 5?

Angle followed by hour hand in 21/4 hrs.=(360/12*21/4)°315°/2 Edge followed by min. hand in 15 min. =(360/12*15)°= 90° ∴ Required edge = (315/2)°-90°= 135°/2

In 12 hours, the hands concur or are in inverse heading 22 times. ∴ In 24 hours, the hands concur or are in inverse heading 44 Times each day.

In 12 hours, they are at right point 22 times. ∴ In 24 hours , they are at right point 44 times.

Q 9 - At what time somewhere around 7 and 8 o'clock will the hands of a be in the Same straight line at the same time, not together?

When the check's hands are in the same straight line however not together. they are 30 moment spaces separated. At 7 o' clock, they are 25 min. space separated. ∴ Minute hand will need to increase just 5 min. spaces. 55 min. spaces are picked up in 60 min. 5 min. spaces are picked up in (60/55*5)min=60/11 min. ∴ Required time=60/11 min. past 7.

Q 10 - At what time somewhere around 5.30 and 6 will the hand of a clock be at right Points?

At 5 o'clock, the hands are 25 min. space separated. To be at right edges and that too somewhere around 5.30 and 6,the moment hand needs to increase (25+15)=40 min. spaces. 55 min. space are gained in 60 min. 40 min. space are picked up in(60/55*40)min.=80/11 min. ∴ Required time =80/11 min. past 5.
