Q 1 - The average age of five officers in a department is 32 years. If the age of their supervisor is added the average increases by 1. What is the supervisor's age?

Supervisor?s age = 32 + 6 = 38 years

Q 2 - The average age of 30 boys in a class is 15 years. One boy aged 20 years, left the class, but two new boys came in his place whose ages differ by 5 years. If the average age of all the boys now in the class still remains 15 years, the age of the younger newcomer is :

Let the age of younger boy be x years. Therefore age of older boy = (x+5) years Then, total age of 30 boys = 30*15 = 450 years Total age of 31 boys after two newcomers join = 450 - 20 +x + x +5 = 435 + 2x From the question, 435 + 2x = 31 * 15 Or, 2x = 465 - 435 Or, x = 15 years

Q 3 - A father is 30 times older than his son. 18 years later, he will be only thrice as old as his son. Father?s present age in years is:

Let the age of the son be x years. So, father's age = 30x years. As per question, after 18 years, 30x + 18 = 3 (x + 18) Or, 27x = 54 - 18 Or, x = 36/27 = 4/3 Therefore father's present age = 30*4/3 = 40 years

Q 4 - The total age of A and B is 12 years more than the total age of B and C. C is how many years younger than A?

According to question, A + B = B + C + 12 A = C + 12 C = A - 12 Hence, C is 12 years younger to A.

Q 5 - What should be the present age of a man if the given condition is such as 15 year hence , a men will be 4 times as old as he was before the period of 15 year?

Let man present age be x years. His age 15 year ago = (x-15) years. His age 15year hence = (x+15) years. (x+15) = 4(x-15) ⇒ 3x= 45 ⇒ x = 45

Q 6 - If 6 year is the difference of age of two boys ram and shyam at the present time. After the period of 4 year, the ratio of their age would be 3:4 . find out the shyam age at the present time?

Let x year is the ram present age then shyam present age will be (x+6) X+4/ (x+6+4) = 3/4 = x+4/ x+10 = 3/4 ⇒ 4(x+4) = 3(x+10) ⇒ x = 14. Hence , it proves that the present age of shyam = (14+6) = 20 year

Q 7 - A mother have 7 times in the comparison of her daughter at the time of 1 year ago . At the present time mother age is equal to the square of her son . What should be the time age of mother?

Let the present age of the son be x years. Man present age =7(x-1)+1 years = (7x-6 ) yrs. 7x-6 = x^{2}⇒ x^{2}-7x+6 = 0 ⇒ (x-6)(x-1) =0 ⇒ x =6 or x =1 ∴ present age of men = (7*6-6) = 36 yrs.

Q 8 - Before the period of 5 year, the age of vijay was 1/3 of the age in the comparison from vipin. The present age of vijay is 17 year , in that situation find out the present age of vipin?

Let vijay age 5 years ago be x years. Then, vipin age 5 years ago = 3x years. x+5 = 17 ⇒ x = 12 present age of vipin = (3*12+5) = 41 yrs.

Q 9 - Before the period of 16 year, my grandfather was 8 times older in the comparison of me. He would be 3 times of my age 8 years now. Find out the ratio of my grandfather and my age before the period of 8 year.

Let my age 16 yrs ago be x years. My grandfather age at that time = 8x years My present age = (x+16) yrs. My grandfather present age = (8x+16) years. 3(x+16+8)= (8x+16+8) ⇒ 3x+72 = 8x+24 ⇒ 5x = 48 ⇒ x = 48/5 Ratio of our ages 8 yrs ago = (x+16-8) /(8x+16-8) = x+8/ 8x+8 (48/5+8)/ (8* 48/5 +5) = 88/424 = 11 :53.

Q 10 - Here 3:2 is the present age ratio between raj and john. If raj was 6 year older in the comparisoin of john after the priod of 4 years. What should be the present age ratio of john?

Let raj age = 3x years. Then john age = 2x years. (3x-4) = 2x-4 +6 ⇒ x =6 Present age of john = (2*6) = 12 years
