Javascript Date - toSource Method

Description:

This method returns a string representing the source code of the object.

Note: This method may not work in all the browsers like IE.

Syntax:

Date.toSource()

Here is the detail of parameters:

  • NA

Return Value:

  • For the built-in Date object, toSource returns a string (new Date(...))indicating that the source code is not available

  • For instances of Date, toSource returns a string representing the source code.

Example:

<html>
<head>
<title>JavaScript toSource Method</title>
</head>
<body>
<script type="text/javascript">
   var dt = new Date(1993, 6, 28, 14, 39, 7);
   document.write( "Formated Date : " + dt.toSource() ); 
</script>
</body>
</html>

This will produce following result:

Formated Date : (new Date(743850547000))
