Step 1

Consider an Excel sheet where you have a table similar to the below image.

First, select the range of cells, then click on insert, click on table, and select pivot table. then click OK in the pop-up.

Select cells > Insert > Table > Pivot table.

Now select the name column for the pivot table

Then close the pivot table fields and click on an empty cell, then click on data, select data validation, change the allow to list and set source to the cells of the pivot table, and click OK to complete the task.

Close pivot table > Empty cell > Data > Data Validation > Allow > Source > Ok.
