A non-metal X exists in two different forms Y and Z. Y is the hardest natural substance, whereas Z is a good conductor of electricity. Identify X, Y and Z.
As X exists in two forms Y and Z, Y and Z are known as the allotropes of X. Given that Y is the hardest natural substance, hence, Y is diamond.
This implies that X is carbon, a non-metal.
Thus, Z is graphite, as it is a good conductor of electricity.
