What is the latest update on the YouTube monetizing policies?

Undoubtedly, YouTube has emerged as a great and helpful tool for many of us who like to learn through watching videos and I am one of them. However, for the last couple of years, this amazing platform has turned out to be nothing but a place where you find mediocre content rather than something helpful. And to top it all people and companies who were behind such substandard content were making a great sum through ads. This was degrading the image of YouTube and users were looking for another option.

YouTube Tightens Its Rules

On the other hand, it was not the case that YouTube had no idea about what all is going on. In fact, it was well aware of and started making a new and significant change in its monetizing policy. The sunny bright morning brought that much-required change in the policy, which fell on most of the mediocre YouTubers like a bolt from the blue.

Now, to curb such poor quality videos, YouTubers have to accomplish the following benchmarks to monetize videos:

4K Hours Watchtime

First, a YouTubers must have tallied the 4 thousand hours of all time watch time on their channel and that too within the past 12 months. Suppose, you created a channel on 1st March 2017, by 28the Feb you should have got the 4 thousand hours of overall watch time.

Before 17 Jan, no such barrier was there. You had to have only 10 thousand overall views on your channel. That’s it!

1K Subscribers

Apart from this, YouTube’s other condition is that to start earning, you should have at least 1 thousand subscribers on your channel. This condition was even fierce for the creators. YouTube has enforced the new eligibility policy for all the current channels as of February 20th. If a channel does not meet these criteria, it will not be able to make money through ads anymore.
