Solution:
Number of days in a week$=7$.
Amount spent on food in a week$=Rs.\ 7\times300=Rs.\ 2100$.
Amount spent on transportation in a week$=Rs.\ 7\times50=Rs.\ 350$.
Total amount saved$=$Earnings$-$Amount spent
$=Rs.\ [5600-(2100+350)]$
$=Rs.\ (5600-2450)$
$=Rs.\ 3150$
Therefore, he saves Rs. 3150 in a week.
