Solve the expression
$5(x-2)+3(x+1)=25$

Given : The expression is $5(x-2)+3(x+1)=25$

To do: Solve the expression

Solution:

$5(x-2)$

multiply 5 inside the brackets

$5 x - 10$

$3 (x + 1)$

multiply 3 inside the brackets

$3 x + 3$

Now, adding the terms

$5 x - 10 + 3 x + 3  =  25$

$5 x + 3 x - 10 + 3   =  25$             [add variables and numbers separately]

$8 x  - 7  =  25$

$8 x   =   25 + 7$                            [- 7 becomes + 7 when it comes to other side]

$8 x   =   32$

$ x   =  \frac{32}{ 8}$

  $x    =  4$

Therefore, the value of $x \ is \ 4$
