Given: Raveena spends $\frac{1}{3}$ of her scholarship money on books. For buying science magazines she additionally spends $\frac{1}{2}$ of what she spends on books. The remaining amount was spent on tuition.

To do: To find the part of scholarship money spent by Raveena on tuition fees.

Solution:

Let $x$ be the Raveena's scholarship.

Money spent on the book$=\frac{1}{3}x=\frac{x}{3}$

Money spent for buying science magazines$=\frac{1}{2}\times\frac{x}{3}=\frac{x}{6}$

Part of scholarship money spent by Raveena on tuition fees$=x-(  \frac{x}{3}+\frac{x}{6})$

$=x-( \frac{2x+x}{6})$

$=x-\frac{3x}{6}$

$=\frac{6x-3x}{6}$

$=\frac{3x}{6}$

$=\frac{x}{2}$

Thus, half of the scholarship money, Raveena spend on her tuition fees.
