For domestic purposes, we connect the electrical devices in parallel instead of connecting them in series. What are the advantages of connecting devices in parallel instead of series?

• In a parallel connection, voltage is equal for all elements. So, each device gets full or equal voltage. 
• A device will not be affected by a disturbance in another device. If one device is switched off / on, other appliances remain unaffected. 
• If one device is damaged, it is very easy to find the faulty device, as only a faulty device stops working.

All these advantages are lost if we use a series connection.
