Find the ratio of the total surface area and lateral surface area of a cube.
To do:
We have to find the ratio of the total surface area and lateral surface area of a cube.
Solution:
Let $s$ be the edge of the cube.
This implies,
The total surface area of the cube $= 6s^2$
The lateral surface area of the cube $= 4s^2$
Therefore,
The ratio between the total surface area and the lateral surface area of the cube $= 6s^2 : 4s^2$
$= 3 : 2$.
