How to preserve important documents like photo IDs, mark sheets for a longer time?
We all have a lot of important documents like Photo Ids (Aadhar card, Driving license, PAN Card), Bank passbooks, Mark sheets with us. But sadly sometimes due to our carelessness, we lose them have to bear the brunt of it. This is how you can take care of them
Get Laminated
This is the first and foremost step that must be adopted in case one needs to keep one’s documents safe from being torn. Nowadays, lamination is such that you can be carefree about the handling of the documents after it.
Maintain Different Files and Folders
Keep one folder for your bank related documents, other for your medical examination related reports (if any), another folder for mark sheets and report cards, while another for certificates.
Label Files and Folders
Label the various files and folders with distinct folders bearing the name of what are the constituents of that file. For example – The file which has all your bank related documents, can be named as Bank Doc File for one’s convenient remembrance.
Store In A Bag
Keep all these important files out of reach of the children in a bag safely. Fasten the bag’s zip and beware of any pet animals too playing with it.
Discard the Stock of Documents
At least once a month, shred your receipts, credit card offers, bank statements, expired credit cards, and utility payments you no longer need.
Scanned Copy Maintenance
Nowadays hard copies and scanned soft copies, but are as good as each other. So, in case one does not have the patience to maintain records in the form of files and folders physically, keeping them safe in the form of soft copies in some auxiliary storage device is an equally good option. So, whenever one needs, one can take out the print out.
Thus it is necessary one takes proper care of all the documents one has especially the important ones as per the tips mentioned above.
