$=-(3+6)$

$=-9$

$(-3)-(-6)=-3+6$

$=6-3$

$=3$

$-9<3$

Therefore,

$(-3)+(-6) < (-3)-(-6)$

(b) $(-21)-(-10)=-21+10$

$=-(21-10)$

$=-11$

$(-31)+(-11)=-31-11$

$=-(31+11)$

Therefore,
