What is Larynx? How does it work?

The larynx, also known as the vocal box, is a hollow and tubular structure that is located at the top of the windpipe (trachea).

The larynx produces vocal sounds when air passes through the larynx reaching the lungs and prevents the entry of food and other foreign particles to the lower respiratory tract.
