The total cost of cultivating a rectangular field is rs 15 per meter square is rs 18330. If the breadth of the field is 26m find the cost of the fencing the field at rs 20 per meter
Given:
Total cost of cultivating the field = 18330₹
Cost of cultivation per m2 = 15 ₹
To find : the cost of the fencing the field at rs 20 per meter
Solution:
Cultivation should be done inside the field , so it is related to area.
Area of field = Total cost of cultivating the field / Cost of cultivation per m2
Area of field = $\frac{18330}{15}$
=$ 1222$
Area of field = $1222m^2$
Area of Rectangle = Length $\times$ Breadth
Breadth = 26 m
1222 = Length $\times$ 26
Rewrite,
Length $\times$ 26 = 1222
Length = $\frac{1222}{ 26}$
Length = 47 m
Fencing should be done at boundary of field. it is related to perimeter.
Cost of fencing per meter = 20₹
Total cost of fencing the field = Perimeter $\times$ Cost of fencing per meter
Perimeter = 2 [(length + breadth)]
Perimeter = 2 [(47 + 26)]
Perimeter = 2 (73)
Perimeter = 146 m
Total cost of fencing the field = 146 $\times$ 20
Total cost of fencing the field = 2920 ₹
