The length of a rectangle field is thrice its breadth. If the area of the field is 7500 Metre Square, find the cost of fencing the field at the rate of 10$ per metre?

Given: The Length of a rectangle field is thrice its breadth and the area of the field Is 7500 Metre Square.

To find: We have to find the cost of fencing.

Solution:

Let the breadth of the field = a

So the length of the field = 3a

Now,

Length  x  Breadth = Area of the rectangular field

3a  x  a = 7500

3a2 = 7500

a2 = 7500/3

a2 = 2500

a = 2500

a = 50 m

So,

The breadth of the field = a = 50 m

The length of the field = 3a = 3 x 50 = 150 m

To find the total cost of fencing the field first we need to find the perimeter of the field.

Perimeter of the rectangular field = 2 (l + b)

Perimeter of the rectangular field = 2 (150 + 50)

Perimeter of the rectangular field = 2 (200) = 400 m

Now,

Cost of fencing 1 m = 10

Cost of fencing 400 m = 10 x 400 = 4000 $
