How many Revolution would a cycle wheel of diameter $ 1.6\ m$ makes to cover a distance of $352\ m.(Take\ \pi=\frac{22}{7})$.

Given: Diameter of the wheel is $1.6\ m$ and distance to cover is $352\ m$.

To do: To find the number of revolutions made by the wheel.

Solution:

As given, Diameter of the wheel $d=1.6\ m$

Therefore, the radius of the wheel $r=\frac{d}{2}=\frac{1.6}{2}=0.8\ m$

So, the circumference of the wheel $=2\pi r=2\times\frac{22}{7}\times0.8$

$=\frac{35.2}{7}\ m$

Distance to cover by the wheel $=352\ m$

Therefore, number of revolution $=\frac{Distance\ covered\ by\ the\ wheel}{Circumference\ of\ the\ wheel}=\frac{352}{\frac{35.2}{7}}$

$=\frac{352\times7}{35.2}$

$=70$

Thus, the number of revolutions made by the wheel is $70$.
