Find the perimeter of a rectangle in which:(i) length $=$ 16.8cm and breadth $=$ 6.2cm(ii) length $=$2m25cm and breadth $=$ 1m50cm(iii) length $=$ 8m5dm and breadth $=$6m8dm.

Given :

The given dimensions of the triangles are

(i) length $=$ 16.8cm and breadth $=$ 6.2cm

(ii) length $=$2m25cm and breadth $=$ 1m50cm

(iii) length $=$ 8m5dm and breadth $=$6m8dm.

To do :

We have to find the perimeter of the triangles.

Solution :

We know that,

For a rectangle of length l and breadth b,

  • $Area = l \times h$
  • $Perimeter = 2(l+b)$

$1 m = 100 cm$ and $1 dm = 10 cm$

(i) length $=$ 16.8 cm and breadth $=$ 6.2 cm

Perimeter $= 2(16.8+6.2) cm = 2(23) cm = 46 cm$.

Therefore, the perimeter of the triangle is 46 cm.

(ii) length $= 2 m 25 cm = (200+25) cm = 225 cm$  and breadth $= 1 m 50 cm = (100+50) cm = 150cm$

Perimeter $= 2(225+150) cm = 2(375) cm = 750 cm = 7m 50 cm$.

Therefore, the perimeter of the triangle is 7 m 50 cm.

(iii) length $= 8 m 5 dm = (800+50) cm = 850 cm$  and breadth $= 6 m 8 dm = (600+80) cm = 680cm$

Perimeter $= 2(850+680) cm = 2(1530) cm = 3060 cm = 3000 cm + 60 cm = 30m + 6 dm = 30m 6dm$.

Therefore, the perimeter of the triangle is 30 m 6 dm.
