(a) What is reproduction? List its two types.(b) How are the modes of reproduction different in unicellular and multicellular organisms?
(a) Reproduction is the biological process by which organisms give birth to new organisms of the same species. Two general methods of reproduction are Asexual and Sexual.
(b) Unicellular organisms reproduce by asexual methods such as budding, binary, and multiple fission, while multicellular organisms reproduce through both the methods, asexual and sexual methods of reproduction.
Multicellular organisms like humans undergo reproduction through sexual methods, while multicellular organisms like plants can undergo reproduction through sexual methods as well as through the asexual vegetative method of reproduction.
