Groovy - Map find(Closure predicate) method
Description
Groovy Map find(Closure predicate) method finds and returns the first entry matching the given predicate.
Syntax
public Entry find(Closure predicate)
Parameters
predicate − 1 or 2 arguments closure used for matching
Return Value
the first entry found
Example - Finding first match in a Map of String and String
Following is an example of the usage of this method −
main.groovy
// define a map def map = ["A" : "Apple", "B" : "Banana", "C": "Carrot", "D":"Berry"] // find first entry starting from B using one argument closure def result = map.find{entry -> entry.value.startsWith("B")} println(result) // find first entry starting from B using two arguments closure result = map.find{key, value -> value.startsWith("B")} println(result)

When we run the above program, we will get the following result −
B=Banana B=Banana

Following is an example of the usage of this method −
