Ruby provides a script called Generator. This script can be used to generate many useful items in Rails. Most important generators are listed below.

Following is the list of options which can be used alongwith generators:

  • -p, --pretend Run but do not make any changes.

  • -f, --force Overwrite files that already exist.

  • -s, --skip Skip files that already exist.

  • -q, --quite Suppress normal output.

  • -t, --backtrace Debugging: show backtrace on errors.

  • -h, --help Show this help message.

  • -c, --svn Modify files with subversion.
