What are the different types of brain diseases occur in humans?
The brain is considered to be one of the most important parts of the human body. The brain is part of the nervous system, and it includes a large network of neurons and nerves. It is also one of the largest and most complex organs in the human body.
When your brain is damaged, it can affect different parts of your body, because your brain is made up of more than 100 billion nerves that communicate in trillions of connections called synapses.
Different types of diseases occur in the human brain.
Brain Injuries
Generally, brain injuries are common when an accident takes place. Sometimes brain injuries are often caused by blunt trauma. Trauma is a serious problem and causes brain injuries damaging neurons, nerves and brain tissues.
This damage will affect your brain's ability to function and the ability to communicate with the rest of your body. Brain injuries can be caused due to Concussions, Hematomas, Blood Clots, Strokes, Bruising of Brain Tissues and Contusions.
Symptoms − Nausea, Vomiting, Numbness, Speech Difficulty, Paralysis, High Blood Pressure.
Brain Tumors
Brain tumors are one of the most dangerous diseases which can occur in humans.
Sometimes tumor will be formed in the lower section of the brain, and these types of tumors are known as primary brain tumors. In some cases, if the cancer present in your body spreads to your brain, then this is called secondary or metastatic brain tumors.
Brain tumors can either be of cancer or it can be non-cancer. The brain tumors are categorized into different stages or grades according to their seriousness. Doctors classify brain tumors as grade 1, grade 2, grade 3 or grade 4. Higher numbers indicate more aggressive tumors.
Symptoms − Nausea, Vomiting, Headaches, Seizures, and Difficulty in Hearing.
Neurodegenerative diseases
Neurodegenerative diseases are diseases which cause your brain and nerves to deteriorate over a period of time. These diseases can change your personality and may cause confusion to your brain. They can also destroy your brain tissues and nerves.
The common neurodegenerative diseases are Huntington's disease, Parkinson's disease, Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis disease, and all forms of Dementia.
Symptoms − Apathy, Anxiety, Mood Changes and Memory Loss.
Neurodegenerative diseases can cause permanent damages as they progress for a lot of time, they need to be cured at early stages.
Mental Disorders
Mental Disorders are also not to be taken lightly, they can cause a lot of damage to the brain. Mental disorders can affect the brain in a serious way causing mental trauma, and recovering from mental trauma is very difficult.
Some of the mental disorders which occur are Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Post Traumatic Disorder stress, and Schizophrenia.
Different people can also experience the same mental disorders very differently based on their conditions. The two different types of treatment for mental disorders are medication and psychotherapy.
