Shubham painted $ \frac{2}{3} $ of the wall space in his room. His sister Madhavi helped and painted $ \frac{1}{3} $ of the wall space. How much did they paint together?
Given :
Shubham painted \( \frac{2}{3} \) of the wall space in his room. His sister Madhavi helped and painted \( \frac{1}{3} \) of the wall space.
To do :
We have to find the wall space painted by them together.
Solution :
Wall space painted by Shubham in his room $= \frac{2}{3}$
Wall space painted by Madhavi in the room $=\frac{1}{3}$
This implies,
Total space painted by both of them together $= \frac{2}{3}+\frac{1}{3}$
$=\frac{2+1}{3}$
$=\frac{3}{3}$
$=1$
Therefore, Shubham and Madhavi together painted 1 complete wall in the room.
