Rexx - hash

This method returns the hash attribute of a string as a decimal number. It also updates the internal hash value of the string.

Syntax

hash(string)

Parameters

• String − The string value for which the hash value needs to be generated.

Return Value

Returns the hash attribute of a string as a decimal number and also updates the internal hash value of the string.

Example

options arexx_bifs 
say hash('hello')

When we run the above program we will get the following result.
