What's acceleration ?

Acceleration is the rate of change of velocity.  If the speed of an object is increasing, we can say the object is accelerating. Mathematically, acceleration is given as

                   $a\ =\ \frac{v\ -\ u}{t\ }$

Where a = acceleration,

v = final velocity,

u = initial velocity, and

t = time taken
