What are the normal and medicinal uses of bacteria?
The studies of the morphology, genetics, ecology, and biochemistry of bacteria, as well as many other aspects related to them for the use of human existence, is known as Bacteriology.
Here is the list of the uses of Bacteria.
1. In the pharmaceutical industry, bacteria are used to produce vaccines, antibiotics, and medically-useful enzymes. Most of these antibiotics are made by bacteria that live in the soil.
2. It has produced human hormones such as insulin, and enzymes such as streptokinase which are used in various medical conditions and diseases including diabetes, heart attack, tuberculosis, AIDS, and SLE.
3. It is used in fermentation processes, such as baking, brewing, and manufacturing of cheese and butter.
4. It is used in chemical manufacturing, such as the production of acetone, ethanol, organic acids, and perfumes.
5. It is used as energy, in the form of biogas (methane).
6. It is used in decomposing sewage waste.
7. It is used in agriculture, such as composting processes and use as pesticides.
