Two buckets can hold 272 l and 425 l of water respectively. Find the capacity of the largest bucket that can be filled an exact number of times from each bucket.
Given: Capacity of buckets = 272 L , 425 L.
To find: The largest bucket which can be filled by 272 L , 425 L buckets exact number of times.
Solution: We need to find L.C.M
272 - 2 $\times$ 2 $\times$ 2 $\times$ 2 $\times$ 17
425 - 5 $\times$ 5 $\times$ 17
L.C.M is $2^4 \times 5^2 \times 17 = 6800$
6800 L is the largest bucket which can be filled by 272 L , 425 L buckets exact
number of times.
