The length and breadth of a park are 70 m 30 cm, and 30 m 40 cm respectively. What is the cost of turfing the park at the rate of Rs. 10 per meter square.

Given:

Length of the park $= 70\ m\ 30\ cm$.

Breadth of the park $= 30\ m\ 40\ cm$.

Cost of turfing the park$=Rs.\ 10$ per meter square.

To do:

Here, we have to find the total cost of turfing the park.

Solution:

We know that,

$1\ m=100\ cm$

Area of rectangle $=$ Length $\times$ Breadth

Therefore,

Length of the park $= 70\ m\ 30\ cm=70.3\ m$.

Breadth of the park $= 30\ m\ 40\ cm=30.4\ m$.

Area of the rectangular park $= 70.3 \times 30.4\ m^2=2137.12\ m^2$

Area of the park $= 2137.12\ m^2$.

Cost of turfing $1\ m^2= Rs.\ 10$.

Cost of turfing the park of $2137.12\ m^2$ area $= Rs.\ 10 \times 2137.12=Rs.\ 21371.20$

The total cost of turfing the park is Rs. 21371.20.
