If the cost of fencing a rectangular park at the rate of 7.50 per metre is 600 and the length of the park is 24m, find the breadth of the park

Given:

The cost of fencing a rectangular park at the rate of 7.50 per metre is 600 and the length of the park is 24m

To do:

We have to find the breadth of the park.

Solution:

We know that,

Perimeter of rectangle $=2$(Length $+$ Breadth)

Therefore,

Length of the park $= 24\ m$.

Let the breadth of the park be $x$.

This implies,

Perimeter of the rectangular park $=2(24+x)\ m$

Cost of fencing $1\ m= Rs.\ 7.50$.

Cost of fencing the park of $2(24+x)\ m = Rs.\ 7.50 \times 2(24+x)$

Therefore,

$15(24+x)=600$

$24+x=40$

$x=40-24$

$x=16\ m$

The breadth of the park is $16\ m$.
