Sandeep pays $ Rs. 5200 $ as rent for four months for a room in a lodge. How much amount does he have to pay for $ 2 \frac{1}{2} $ years?

Given:

Sandeep pays \( Rs. 5200 \) as rent for four months for a room in a lodge.

To do:

We have to find the amount he has to pay for \( 2 \frac{1}{2} \) years.

Solution:

Rent for 1 month$=Rs.\ \frac{5200}{4}=Rs.\ 1300$.

 We know that,

1 year$=$12 months

$2\frac{1}{2}$ years$=\frac{5}{2}\times12$ months

$=30$ months.

Therefore,

Rent for $2\frac{1}{2}$ years$=Rs.\ 1300\times30$

$=Rs.\ 39,000$

He has to pay Rs. 39,000 for $2\frac{1}{2}$ years$.
