Solution:
S.P. of the plot of land =Rs. 240000
Profit% =20%
Cost price = $\frac{ 100}{100 + gain \%\ }$ $\times$ Selling price
= $\frac{100}{100+20 }\times 240000$
= $\frac{100}{120} \times 240000$
= Rs 200000.
Therefore, Ramu bought the house at Rs 200000
