Multiply:
$(a-1)$ by $(0.1a^2 + 3)$

To do:

We have to multiply $(a-1)$ by $(0.1a^2 + 3)$

Solution:

We know that,

$(a+b)\times(c+d)=a(c+d)+b(c+d)$

Therefore,

$(a-1)\times(0.1a^2 + 3)=a(0.1a^2 + 3) - 1(0.1a^2+ 3)$

$= 0.1a^3 + 3a-0.1a^2-3$

$= 0.1a^3 - 0.1a^2 + 3a-3$
