Explain respiration process in cockroaches.

The respiratory system of cockroaches is known as a tracheal system, that consists of a network of the trachea, that open through 10 pairs of small holes called spiracles present on the lateral side of the body.

Oxygen-rich air enters the body through these spiracles, which are regulated by the muscular spinchters, and open into the tracheal tubes.

Then, the air rich in carbon-dioxide rushes towards the tracheal tubes and is finally exhaled out through the spiracles.
