Every one of us can do something to reduce our consumption of various natural resources. List four such activities based on the 3-R approach.
3R approach is taken to reduce the production of solid waste.
This approach is to reduce, reuse and recycle.
Activities that can be undertaken to conserve nature, based on the 3R approach are:
1. More usage of public transport instead of using personal vehicles as it will reduce the consumption of fuel and decrease air pollution.
2. Avoid using non-biodegradable substances like polythene as they are harmful to the environment and animals such as a cow. Instead of plastic bags, the usage of cloth bags should be promoted as it is reusable and biodegradable.
3. Instead of plastics, the usage of paper products should be preferred as they can be reused and recycled easily. Also, they can be decomposed easily, without causing harm to the environment.
4. Materials such as glass and plastics should be collected and send for recycling so that they can be easily converted to products like toys, containers, etc that are reusable.
