What can you as an individual do to reduce your consumption of the various natural resources?

An individual can contribute towards reducing the consumption of various natural resources by:

• encouraging afforestation and stopping deforestation, strongly protesting the poaching of wild animals, and stopping the conversion of forest land for urbanization and industrialization.
• avoiding the discharge of sewage and other religious articles or substances into the rivers or other water resources. by promoting rainwater harvesting. By closing the water outlet when not in use, and avoiding the wastage of water.
• by using a bicycle for traveling short distances or covering the distance by walking. To reduce the consumption of fuel, usage of public transport such as trams, buses, metro trains, etc. is encouraged for long distances.
• By stopping the use of coal as fuel and by using alternative sources of non-renewable energy like solar energy and hydro energy.
• by reducing the wastage of paper and other resources, like sharpening the pencil repeatedly, throwing away plastic bottles instead of reusing them, etc.
