Why are plants so useful?

Plants are useful to us in many ways-
1. They provide oxygen
2. They provide habitat for wildlife, and building materials for constructing houses.
3. Various plant parts like leaves, fruits, nuts, stems, flowers are used as food by herbivores, carnivores, and omnivores.
4. They provide fibers such as cotton, linen, hemp, etc for manufacturing textiles.
5. They provide fibers for paper, caning, rope, and also provide basketry materials used in making furniture.
6. Some plants are used in making candles, lotions, and perfumes.
7. Various plants are used as medications.
8. They are useful in moderating greenhouse gasses, and also their roots help in breaking rocks to create soil.
