Why plants are of green colour?
Plants & their leaves are green in color because of the presence of the pigment called Chlorophyll.
Chlorophyll is the green-colored pigment found in plants, algae, and cyanobacteria. It is found in the chloroplast.
It absorbs light (red and blue) for energy, the unabsorbed green bounces away and is detected by our eyes and thus appearing green.
It absorbs light to provide energy for photosynthesis to occur.
