Here given, applied force $F=40\ N$

Acceleration $a=5\ ms^{-2}$

Therefore, the mass of the body $ m=\frac{F}{a}$

$=\frac{40\ N}{5\ ms^{-2}}$

$=8\ kg$

Therefore, the mass of the body is $8\ kg.$
