“Two areas of study namely 'evolution' and 'classification' are interlinked”. Justify this statement.

Organisms of different species evolved during the course of evolution. Classification defines as the grouping of organisms into groups and subgroups based on their similarities, functionalities, and structural formations.

The common characteristics present in organisms of two different species can be closely related and they can share a common ancestor.

Thus, classification provides the evolutionary relations among two organisms. Thereby, it can be said that 'evolution' and 'classification' are interlinked.
