To do: To find the value of given expression when $x=4$.

Solution: 


Given expression is $3 x^{2}-4 x-2$

when $x=4$, on substituting this value in the expression it becomes,

$=3( 4)^{2}-4( 4)-2$

$=3\times4\times4-4\times4-2$

$=48-16-2$

$=30$

Thus, the value of the expression is $30$, when $x=4$.
