Given:
$1$ cubic cm of marble weighs $0.25\ kg$, the weight of marble block $28\ cm$ in width and $5\ cm$ thick is $112\ kg$.
To do:
We have to find the length of the block.
Solution:
Weight of $1\ cm^3$ of marble $= 0.25\ kg$
Breadth of the block $(b) = 28\ cm$
Thickness of the block $(h) = 5\ cm$
Total weight of the block $= 112\ kg$
Therefore,
Volume $=\frac{112}{0.25}$
$=\frac{112 \times 100}{25}$
$=448 \mathrm{~cm}^{2}$
Length of the block $=\frac{\text { Volume }}{b \times h}$
$=\frac{448}{28 \times 5}$
$=\frac{16}{5}$
$=3.2 \mathrm{~cm}$
Hence, the length of the block is $3.2\ cm$.
