Find the quotient without division.
(a) $3.02 ÷ 10$(b) $3.2 ÷ 10$

Given:

The given expressions are

(a) $3.02 ÷ 10$

(b) $3.2 ÷ 10$

To do :

We have to find the quotient without division.

Solution :

(a) $3.02 ÷ 10$

We know that when a number is divided by 10 the decimal point in the numerator moves to the left by n digits.

Therefore,

$3.02÷10 = \frac{3.02}{10^1}$

                 $= 0.302$.

Therefore, the quotient of $3.02 ÷ 10$ is 0.302.

(b) $3.2 ÷ 10$

We know that when a number is divided by 10 the decimal point in the numerator moves to the left by n digits.

Therefore,

$3.2÷10 = \frac{3.2}{10^1}$

                 $= 0.32$.

Therefore, the quotient of $3.2 ÷ 10$ is 0.32.
