Running is undoubtedly the best exercise for every gender and age group. So, Osteoarthritis occurs when joint-cushioning cartilage faces a breakdown. Excessive body weight is the major factor behind Osteoarthritis after age. A recently done survey by the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey states, obese females have about four times the risk of knee osteoarthritis than non-obese ones. Running significantly brings down the risk of osteoarthritis because runners are lighter as compared to the sedentary population.
Moreover, the benefits still do not end here. Running bolsters your cartilage by boosting the oxygen flow and flushing out toxins as well as strengthening the ligaments around your joints. Hitting the trail also gives your bones a boost and lessen the chances of osteoporosis.
Be Careful: Though, it’s very necessary to handle all injuries well which occur due to running. Also, replace your shoes often and maintain a steady pace while running. Remember, running helps build your joints up, not pull them down.
