SBI PO Syllabus - Structure of Examination



The exam of SBI Probationary Officer (PO) is conducted by State Bank of India in three phases −

  • Phase I: Preliminary Exam

  • Phase II: Mains Exam (Part I)

  • Phase II: Mains Exam (Part II)

  • Phase III: Group Discussion/Exercise Interview

Phase I: Preliminary Exam

Once the candidate passes the Preliminary and Main exams, he/she is called for Group Discussion (Bank PO GD) and Interview −

Note

  • The SBI Bank PO exams are conducted ONLINE

  • The SBI Bank PO preliminary and main (part I) exams carry OBJECTIVE (Multiple-Choice) type questions

  • The Bank PO exams have NEGATIVE marking and hence .25 marks is deducted against every wrong answer

  • The SBI Preliminary Exam is only qualifying and hence marks obtained in this exam is not added in the merit list

  • The candidates have to qualify both the exams i.e. Phase-II and Phase-III separately.

  • The marks obtained in Main Examination (Phase-II) and in GD & Interview collectively used for the preparation of the final merit list.
