Which causes more bending (or more refraction) of light rays passing through it : a convex lens of long focal length or a convex lens of short focal length?

The bending of light by a convex lens and concave lens depends on the power of the lens. The more will be the power, the more will be the light bends. Thus, a convex lens having a short focal length will have more power and hence, higher refraction.

Explanation

We know that the power of the lens is inversely proportional to the focal length of the lens. Hence, the lens with a shorter focal length will have more power or higher refraction (causes more bending of light rays). While the lens with a longer focal length will have less power or low refraction (causes less bending of light rays).

Thus, a convex lens of short focal length will cause more bending (or more refraction) of light rays passing through it.
