What is the difference between cell and atom?
All creatures are made up of atoms.
A cell is made up of an uncountable number of atoms, atoms associate each other and form molecules, these molecules combine to form higher structures and form macromolecule or polymers, that can make heavy molecules such as proteins, carbohydrates, nucleic acids, etc. which forms organelles. And these organelles together constitute the basic unit of life, called cells.
Cells make up tissues and the groups of tissues build the organs. These organs together build the organ systems and different organ systems make the organism like humans, monkey, goat, etc.
So, the difference is-
1. A cell is made up of atoms, while atoms are made up of elctron proton & neutron.
2. A cell needs oxygen, water, sunlight, and many more to function, while atoms don't need all of these.
