Baking soda is a sodium salt that is added to the food to cook faster.
The chemical name of baking soda is sodium hydrogen carbonate or sodium bicarbonate.
Baking soda is used in fire extinguishers. It is also used in preparing baking powder and also in baking cakes etc.
Washing soda and baking soda are different. Washing soda consist of two sodium atoms attached to the carbonate group and baking soda has one atom of a sodium atom and one hydrogen.
