What are glands?


A gland is a group or collection of cells in living organisms that synthesize chemical substances to release either directly into the bloodstream (endocrine gland) or into ducts or cavities inside the body (exocrine gland).

Exocrine-  The exocrine system is a system of hormones and glands that secrete chemical substances through ducts or tubes outside the body or onto another surface within the body. 

It is a simple gland that secrets a variety of things such as sweat, enzymes, mucus, etc.
