What are fertilization and respiration?
Fertilization is the process in which the nuclei of the egg and sperm unite together in the fallopian tube to form a single-celled zygote.
Respiration is the process where a living organism produces the energy with the intake of oxygen and release of carbon dioxide produced during the oxidation of complex organic substances.
There are two major types of respiration- aerobic, and anaerobic.
1. Aerobic respiration- The respiration process which takes place in the presence of oxygen is known as aerobic respiration. Glycolysis and Kreb's cycle are a part of aerobic respiration.
2. Anaerobic respiration- The respiration process which takes place in the absence of oxygen is known as anaerobic respiration. It usually occurs in the muscles during physical exercise.
